Come to Our Last Wednesday Meeting of the Season

Everyone knows that the older you get, the faster time goes.  The high season just flew by, didn't it?  Our volunteers were so busy with programs and our big Fiesta-Fundraiser, that all of a sudden, we are saying goodbyes to the folks who have to head north.  Luckily for Sayulita, there are a number of GPS volunteers who stay here most of the year.

I have been particularly touched and humbled by the tremendous weekly turnout of volunteers and interested residents.  People care about our community and want to help via GPS .  We often have more than 30 people attending our meetings and all sorts of interesting ideas and information are given.  When we geared up for our very successful Fiesta, as many as 80 people volunteered for various aspects.  This has been a remarkable show of support!

In fact, I think many share the feeling that we will miss seeing each other every Wednesday--- it's been the social fabric for many of us.

From working on the Community Police Program, to supporting the Delegacion Municipal, and working on all sorts of related programs (it's an effort just to keep recycling alive), to seeing the Primaria kids dance with excitement, to planning for our first ambulance and rescue/emergency truck and fire station (we hope the July election politics won't delay this too long), to helping Sayulitanimals continue its free spay and neuter programs, to looking for a way to get medicine into the hands of doctors at the Salud, and so much more, Grupo Pro Sayulita has been that critical funding source for many needed efforts.

Those of us who can't be here physically during the off-season can still participate via email.  As I write, there is a committee working on seeking new energy for our board and officers.  It'll soon be time to say thanks to some long-serving volunteers and hello to new ideas from others who have indicated a willingness to step up to our plate and take more active roles.  Our annual election is not until next January, but now is the time to plan for transition, since everyone is here and the pressure is off.

Please do attend our last meeting of the season, on April 25.  This season, we have mostly met at Calypso, despite having to compete at times with the construction.  All that construction will soon be completed, and next season will be a breeze.  I'd like to thank the folks at Calypso for making their restaurant available to us- and to Ruben for his great food for those who wanted working-lunches.   See you Wednesday.

Llega a la Ultima Junta de la Temporada

Todos saben que el más viejo consigue, el más rápido tiempo va. ¿La temporada alta pasó volando sólo, no hizo? Nuestros voluntarios estuvieron tan ocupados con programas y nuestro Fiesta-Recogedor DE FONDOS grande, que de repente, decimos despedidas a las gente que tienen que diríjase al norte. Por suerte para Sayulita, hay varios voluntarios GPS que permanecen aquí la mayor parte del año.

He sido tocado especialmente y he sido humillado por la concurrencia semanal tremenda de voluntarios y residentes interesados. Las personas tienen interés en nuestra comunidad y quieren ayudar a través de GPS. Nosotros a menudo tenemos a más de 30 personas que asisten nuestras reuniones y todo tipo de ideas y la información interesantes son dadas. Cuando nos preparamos para nuestra Fiesta muy exitosa, tantas como 80 personas se ofrecieron para varios aspectos. ¡Esto ha sido una exposición notable de apoyo!

De hecho, yo pienso muchas acción el sentimiento que perderemos ver uno al otro todos los miércoles -- -ha sido el tejido social para muchos de nosotros.

De trabajar en la Policía de la Comunidad Programa, a apoyar el Delegacion Municipal, y trabajando en todo tipo de programas relacionados (es un esfuerzo de mantener sólo reciclando vivo), a ver los niños de Primaria bailan con entusiasmo, a la planificación para nuestro primer camión de ambulancia y rescate/emergencia y parque de bomberos (esperamos que la política de elección de julio no demorará este demasiado largo), a ayudar Sayulitanimals continúa su libre esteriliza y castra programas, a mirar Para una manera de conseguir la medicina en las manos de médicos en el Salud, y tanto más, Grupo Pro Sayulita ha sido esa financiación crítica fuente para muchos esfuerzos necesitados.

Los que no podemos estar aquí físicamente durante el en temporada baja todavía puede participar a través de correo electrónico. Como escribo, hay un comité que trabaja a buscar nueva energía para nuestra tabla y oficiales. Pronto será tiempo de decir gracias a algunos voluntarios anhelo-servindo y hola a nuevas ideas de otros que han indicado un consentimiento para ascender a nuestro plato y tomar papeles más activos. Nuestra elección anual no está hasta el próximo enero, pero ahora es el tiempo de planear para la transición, desde que todos están aquí y la presión está apagada.

Asista por favor nuestra última reunión de la temporada, el 25 de abril. Esta temporada, nosotros hemos encontrado en su mayor parte en Calipso, a pesar de tener que competir a veces con la construcción. Todo que construcción pronto será completada, y próxima temporada será una brisa.
