Grand Opening of the Casa de la Cultura in Sayulita

On Monday May 7th the Casa de la Cultura located on Calle del Palmar, one block from the beach officially opened their doors to the public with a special opening event complete with music, dance, a traditional Huichol ceremony and champagne toast and of course, cutting of the ribbon by Municipal officials and Sayulita's town delegate, Hector Pina.
The Casa de la Cultura, Sayulita's community center will be a place of learning, recreation and town events for everyone in Sayulita, especially Sayulita's youth. "Sayulita's cultural center will serve as an opportunity of young people to get more involved in the community and participate in classes, workshops and hobbies" said Oswaldo Vallejo, an active member in the delegation and assistant to Hector Pina. Sayulita's Casa de la Cultura will offer a series of classes including English for children and adults, dance and art classes, music lessons and workshops turning recyclables into art. The Cultura Center also received a makeover with a fresh paint job. Volunteers helped paint the entire building and donated the red and white paint that now covers the outside and inside of Sayulita's new community center.

Inauguracion de la Casa de la Cultura
El lunes, 7 de mayo la Casa de la Cultura, ubicada en Calle del Palmar, a una cuadra de la playa abrio sus puertas al publico con una inauguración especial, incluyendo musica, baile, una ceremonia huichol, un brindis y el corte de la cinta por oficiales del municipio y el delegado de Sayulita, Hector Pina.
La Casa de la Cultura, el centro comunitario de Sayulita será un lugar de esparcimiento y donde aprender y realizar eventos para todos en la comunidad, y mas para los jóvenes de Sayulita. "La Casa de la Cultura sivira como oportunidad para que los jóvenes participen en clases, talleres y pasatiempos" dijo Oswaldo Vallejo, un miembro activo en nuestra comunidad y asistente de Hector Pina. La Casa de la Cultura ofrecera una gama de clases incluyendo ingles para ninos y adultos, clases de baile, musica y arte y talleres de arte de reciclajes. La Casa de la Cultura tambien recibio un nuevo look con nueva pintura. Voluntarios ayudaron a pintar todo el edificio y donaron la pintura blanca y roja que ahora cubre el edificio por dentro a afuera.
