Stonefish Skateboarding

Stonefish Skateshop is urging local skater youth to use their noggins' and wear a helmet. Skateboarding is a relatively new sport to Sayulita, and offers an alternative to surfing for those who prefer to board on land rather than the sea. With the immense growing popularity of the sport, came ramps and little skate parks around the North end of Sayulita, where Stonefish is located.

The paved streets of the north side of town are prefect for the skaters, as opposed to the cobblestone of the main roads downtown, or the dusty trails of the south. It does not come as a surprise passion for the youngsters around town, as the steady stream of surfers and skaters from SoCal has influenced our culture here. And as that crowd continues to migrate to Sayulita, their southern neighbor, for the perfect waves and mellow vibes, our kiddos continue to pick up on their sports and bleached blond hairstyles!

However, as Sayulita is an extremely aware, conscious, and unique town, full of thinkers and caring folks, we are always adapting to become safer as a community in Sayulita! In true Sayulita fashion, following the lifeguards and warning signs on the beaches, Stonefish Skateshop presents their Helmet Give-Away Donation Drive.

This project is to raise awareness in skater safety as the sport emerges and younger children become involved, as well as to buy helmets to give away to local teens who can't otherwise afford to protect their fragile cabezas! If you desire to donate towards a helmet for a child, please stop by Mon-Sat: 10am-9pm, Sun: 4pm-9pm or call 322 150 3537. Stonefish Skate Shop is located on the corner of Calle Miraamar #20.
